The Dana Point Turkey Trot continues to support local non-profit organizations and charities by donating proceeds from the race. Since its inception, the Dana Point Turkey Trot has raised over half a million dollars for nonprofit organizations. The Ocean Institute, founded in 1977, is a community-based 501(c)(3) organization that educates 100,000 children, teachers, parents, and visitors annually through over 30 marine science and maritime history programs. Located in the Dana Point Harbor, the facility is an ocean education center that offers in-depth Marine Science and Maritime History. The Ocean Institute includes state-of-the-art teaching labs, the spectacular Maddie James Seaside Learning Center, a historic tall ship, and an oceanographic research vessel. Immersion-based field trips range from one-hour science labs to multi-day programs at sea. All programs are designed to maximize immersion, spark curiosity, and inspire a deep commitment to learning.


Soroptimist of Capistrano Bay, where passion meets purpose in empowering women and girls to achieve their full potential. Through Soroptimist's various projects and fundraising efforts, they advocate for women's rights, provide educational scholarships, mentorship, and support programs. Whether it's empowering survivors of domestic violence, promoting girls' education, or fostering leadership skills, they believe in the transformative power of collective action. Soroptimist of Capistrano Bay embodies this mission with dedicated and enthusiasm - striving to make a tangible difference in our community and beyond.
