How do I register for the Turkey Trot?
- SAVE MONEY!! REGISTER ONLINE EARLY... You can register online by clicking HERE.
- You can register in person on Wednesday, Nov. 21 from 10:00am to 5:00pm in the Dana Point Harbor parking lot. Please call (949) 496-1555 with any questions.
- You can register in person on Thursday, Nov.22 beginning at 6:00am in the Dana Point Harbor. We will be in the parking lot on the northwest corner of Golden Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive. Look for registration signs!
- You can mail in a registration form from the race brochure or download a registration form from here. Then mail it to:

Mail-in registration forms must be received no later than November 9, 2012.
Checks or money orders must be payable to "Dana Point Turkey Trot."
What is the deadline for registration?
- Deadline for mail-in registrations: November 10, 2012
- Deadline for online registration: November 19, 2012
How do I know if I am registered?
Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation email.
When and where can I pick up my race packet?
You can pick up all race materials in person in the Dana Point Harbor, in the parking lot of the southeast corner of Dana Point Harbor Drive and Golden Lantern on Wednesday, November 21, 10:00 am to 5:00pm. You can also pick up all race materials on race day, Thursday, November 22, in the Dana Point Harbor, in the parking lot on the northwest corner of Golden Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive. Look for registration signs.
Can someone else pick up my Race Packet or vice versa?
Registration materials can be picked up by friends or family members. Friends and family of a participant may pick up packets on behalf of a participant only if they have a copy of the person's photo ID and waiver SIGNED BY THE PARTICIPANT (or participants parent if under 18). Download waiver form.
Do you mail out the race bibs?
No. All bibs, timing chips and t-shirts must be picked up on Wednesday or on race day.
What are the Entry Fees?
Entry fees can be found HERE.
What if I want to run the 10K and the 5K?
You can run both the 10K and the 5K races. Once finished with your 10K, you can enter the next available 5K coral.
Are the kids' races timed?
No. The kids' races are just fun. Parents who are interested in timing their children should plan on providing their own stop watch.
Are strollers allowed on the course?
Yes, we do allow people to run with baby joggers or strollers, but you must be in the last part of your respective race, for your safety and the safety of others.
Where are the porta pottie locations?
There will be plenty of porta potties located at the far end of the registration area as well as adjacent to the starting line area.
Do you offer personal item storage?
Yes. You can check in your sweats and other items in the personal item storage area located next to the t-shirt distribution area.
Where do I find the race results?
Race results will be available on race day in the festival area. You can also find the results posted online at www.turkeytrot.com/results.html
Where do I park?
PARKING SUGGESTIONS:
$15 per vehicle (normal day-use) parking is available on Doheny State Beach
Dana Point Harbor Drive at the Embarcadero
The parking lot across from the Dana Marina Plaza (at Golden Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive)
Along Golden Lantern north of the Dana Marina Plaza
Along Del Prado or Pacific Coast Highway and walk down Golden Lantern to Dana Point Harbor Drive
Can I walk in an event or do I have to be a runner?
Walkers are definitely welcome in all races. Register for the event of your choice and enjoy yourself.
What is the timing system?
The Chronotrack D-Tag System is used for all events except the kids' races. The D-Tag is easy to attach to your shoe:
Do you offer prize money?
There is prize money in the 10K ONLY. The prize structure is as follows:
1st Place male & female $ 1,000
2nd Place male & female $ 500
3rd Place male & female $ 250

Do you have age/division awards?
Age division medals will be awarded for the top 3 male and females in each division in the 5K & 10K events.
Can I run with my dog?
No. For safety issues we request that dogs stay at home.
Are skateboards, rollerblades, scooters or bikes allowed?
No. For safety, please keep these items off the course.
How can I volunteer?
Visit the Volunteer page and download our sign-up form. We need 400 volunteers to keep the race running smoothly. We appreciate your help!
Can I get community service hours for volunteering?
Yes. There will be community service hour forms available for volunteers after completing their shift. The forms will need to be signed by an authorized race staff person.
