  • How do I register for the Turkey Trot?

  • What is the deadline for registration?
    • Deadline for mail-in registrations:  November 14
    • Deadline for online registration: November 24 (midnight)
  • How do I know if I am registered? 
    • Once you have registered you will receive a confirmation email.
  • When and where can I pick up my race packet?
    • You can pick up all race materials if you register in person at Dana Wharf Sportfishing, located at 34675 Golden Lantern, (949) 496-1555 on Wednesday, November 26th, noon to 5:00pm. OR, you can pick up all race materials on race morning.
  • Can someone else pick up my Race Packet or vice versa?
    • Yes. Please bring a photo copy of the person’s i.d. so we know we are giving out the correct materials for the correct person.
  • Do you mail out the race bibs?
    • No. All bibs, timing chips and t-shirts must be picked up on Wednesday or on race day.
  • What are the Entry Fees?
    • Early Registration (by November 1)  $30
    • Late Registration (November 2-23) $35
    • Both 10K & 5K Early (by November 1)  $45
      Both 10K & 5K Late (November 2-27)  $50
    • Early Kids Race (by November 1)  $12
    • Late Kids Race (November 2-27) $15
  • What if I want to run with my family members or friends in the wrong age category of the 5K?
    • No problem, many people do this.. Those who run in the 5K that is not their correct division will not be eligible for an age division award but will receive an official race time.
  • Are the Kids’ races timed?
    • No. The kids’ races are just fun runs. Parents who are interested in timing their children should plan on providing their own stop watch.
  • Are strollers allowed on the course?
    • Yes, we do allow people to run with baby joggers or strollers but we ask that you start in the back of the pack for your safety and the safety of others.
  • Where are the Port-a Pottie Locations?
    • There will be plenty of porta-potties located at the far end of the registration area as well as adjacent to the starting line area.
  • Do you offer Personal Item Storage?
    • Yes. You can check in your sweats and other items in the personal item storage area located next to the t-shirt distribution area.
  • Can I participate in two events?
    • Yes, the early registration price is $45 and the late registration price is $50.
  • Where do I find the race results?
  • Where do I park?
    • PARKING SUGGESTIONS:
      1. Dana Point Harbor Drive at the Embarcadero
      2. The parking lot across from the Pavilion (at Golden Lantern and Dana Point Harbor Drive)
      3. Along Golden Lantern north of the Pavilion
      4. In Doheny State Beach ($8.00)
      5. Along Del Prado or PCH and walk down Golden Lantern to Dana Point Harbor Drive
  • Can I walk in an event or do I have to be a runner
    • Walkers are definitely welcome in all races. Register for the event of choice and enjoy yourself.
  • What is the timing system?
    • The ChampionChip timing system is used for all events except the kids’ races.
  • Do you offer prize money?
    • There is prize money in the 10K ONLY. The prize structure is as follows:
      • 1st Place male & female  $ 1,000
      • 2nd Place male & female  $ 500
      • 3rd Place male & female $ 250

  • Do you have age/division awards?
    • Age division medals will be awarded for the top 3 male and females in each division in the 5K & 10K events.
  • Can I run with my dog?
    • No. For safety issues we request that dogs stay at home.
  • Can I skate the races?
    • No. For safety issues no skates are allowed in any of the events.
  • How can I volunteer?
    • Visit the VOLUNTEER page and download and print a sign-up form. We need 400 volunteers to keep the race running so smoothly and appreciate the help!
  • Can I get community service hours for volunteering?
    • Yes. There will be community service hour forms available for volunteers after completing their shift. The forms will need to be signed by an authorized race staff person.
